School-Live! Review

screenshot_2016-02-18-20-55-11-1School-Live! first began airing in July 2015 and finished in the following September. The story begins with Yuki Takeya, a chipper young high school student who loves school so much that she never wants to leave. She attends Megurigaoka Private High School and is part of the School living club. Along with Yuuri Wakasa; the intelligent club president, Kurumi Ebisuzawa; the athletic hard hitter, Miki Naoki; the tentative yet mature junior, Their watchful teacher Megumi Sakura and the adorable dog Taroumaru. Together they must learn to live solely in the school and make the most out of every day they have. However, Yuki’s peculiar view of the world may be masking the fact that they are currently stranded in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, and have in actuality barricaded themselves inside the school as the sole survivors of the outbreak.

My Review: This show is great, no two way about it from me. I haven’t come across a show that made me this emotional in a long time. I do have to say that the first episode threw me for a loop, and going into this with very little knowledge of what to expect I came out so sad to see it end. Every high point makes you smile and laugh with glee, while all the lows (particularly the end) makes you cry your eyes out. Every single one of the characters are so endearing, making it hard to hate them. Not to mention the contagious feeling of desperation that is so well executed. My brain did have a hard time with the art style considering the drastic difference between it and the concepts being presented. A very strong anime that I recommend to anyone and everyone.

I rate this anime 3.5/5.
