Now for something completely diffrent!

You might have noticed that I published a review that differs a little from my normal format (here), just as a little experiment I wanted to try a review that was on episodical bases, just to see what that’s like. I’ll continue with that format for the entire series and then wrap up with a full series review. Feel free to let me know what you think of the new style and suggest any improvements you might have.

Anime of the Year Awards (2017)

I don’t normally follow all the new animes as they are released so I haven’t seen a tremendous amount of shows from this year, but I’ve seen some so that’s good enough right. As such I will be starting the Anime Accord’s annual Anime of the Year awards.
Before we get to the main award winner I’d just like to name a few other shows that I really liked.

Honourable mentions:

UntitledKonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! 2
A wonderful continuation of the KonoSuba series. I loved this whole series and season 2 was no disappointment. KonoSuba is full of fun moments and never gets too serious or heavy, making it the perfect easy watch.

Eromanga Sensei
A show with a risky premise that made quite a splash in the community. With a less than positive favorability. Love it or hate it Eromanga Sensei was a show that packs in the laughs and never lost my interest.

Dragon maidMiss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid

A weird show with a weird concept, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid sees Miss Kobayashi learning how to coexist with her new live-in maid. It just so happens to be that her new maid is actually a dragon. What ensues is a budding comedy that shows how each person  (and dragon) can learn something from one another.

And there we have it, the first annual Anime of the Year awards. We’ve had a lot of good shows this year and I look forward to seeing whats in store for us next year.

Thanks for reading!
